Ladies Aux. #22 was forced to hand in their charter in December 2021 as there no longer were enough LA's in the zone to meet the Legion's rules.

The Ladies Auxialliary of Branch 22 was received on March2, 1927.  Meetings were held in the member's homes and then the Parrish Hall until the origignal Legion Branch was constructed in 1928.

The LA operates independently of the Branch, electing its own executive and holding it's own meetings.  Any fund raising proceeds are used by the Ladies.  Pie sales every second Friday in conjunction with Baron of Beef night,  a pancake breakfast the first Saturday of the month, annual Burns dinner, quilt raffles, 50/50 draws, catering along with tea and bake sales are the projects used to raise money.

The LA and Branch started the annual tradition of a children's Christmas Party for the children of Veterans. Typically 80-100 children visited with Santa and had lunch.  The party is now open to the public.

An annual bursary is presented to a graduating Summerland Secondary School Graduate to help with the cost of higher education. The Ladies always donate ice cream for each Canada Day celebration in Memorial Park.

The most unique project Branch 22 Ladies Aux maintains, is the purchase and placement of a silver cross on the local graves of veterans. There is a total of 384 crosses placed to date. Seventy two at the Old Anglican Cemetary on Giants Head Road, twenty four at the Peach Orchard Pioneer Cemetary, and the rest at Canyon View Cemetary. This project originated in 1958. It is a moving sight to see every Veteran's grave marked by a tributary candle and cross for VE day anniversaries.
